Student visa, subclass 571-576
Main criteria (primary applicant):
- age 6 and over
- accepted for full-time study in a registered course (see: CRICOS)
- declaration of having enough money to pay for travel, tuition and living expenses in Australia
Main criteria (primary applicant and his family members):
- arranged overseas student health cover
- no substantial criminal record
- good health (free from tuberculosis at the time of travel to Australia)
* Financial requirements:
$1500 per month - primary applicant
$525 per month - partner/de facto partner of the primary applicant
$300 per month - first child of the primary applicant
$225 per month - second and subsequent child of the primary applicant
$8000 - annual school fee for each child aged 5-18
Required documents (paper application):
- valid passport
- 4 passport photos for each person included in the application
- completed application form 157a
- Confirmation of Enrolment
- evidence of having paid for overseas student health cover for the entire period of validity of student visa
- application fee $565 ($535 - from 1 January 2012)
Additional required documents (apply to partner/de facto partner and each dependent child under 18):
- marriage certificate or evidence of 12-months de facto relationship
- full birth certificate for each child
- evidence of enrolment in an Australian school for each child
Additional required documents (apply to primary applicants under 18):
- parent/s consent for the child to travel and stay in Australia (in case only one parent or no parents accompany the child)
- full birth certificate
- evidence of arranged accommodation and welfare
